INTRODUCING TOBY LIGHTMAN

Music is great everyday you can discover something new and say wow thats cool music. This could be said for Toby Lightman and her music. I visited her URL today, had a look around, downloaded via real player her music, and listened to it. I was impressed with her musical style and her song writing and musical talent. If it were not for shows like Everwood - One Tree Hill - The OC and Summerland the musical landscape would be very sparse indeed.

Now back to Toby and her music.

This is Tobys first CD release and features the massive first time releases Operator is an independent single and Real Love. The CD features Devils and Angels an awesome track.

Operator can be heard on the season finale of Everwood from Fox TV. This is a remake of the massive hit by legendary rocker Jim Croce. If you are fan of Everwood then this single is a must for you to have.

MISOGI BREATHING

I found this on my hard disk going way way back to 2002 and the old Les Mills Forums.

Lucky I kept all my replies )

Misogi Breathing is the central focus of Tai Chi. It could be said that Misogi Breathing Centres the body and balances the soul. The cycle of breathing in and out deep via the noise increases awareness of your own space (spatial awareness.)

Breathing in and out through your nose helps in stress management.

It is also called the breath of life, the deeper breathing you do through your nose helps in rejuvenating the whole body and increases the healing aspects of your body.

It energizes the body and prepares you for the whole Body Balance Experience.

The cycle of breath should be using eight – eight – eight breathing cycles breath in for eight seconds hold for eight seconds and then releases and begins the life cycle of breath again.

A WORTH WHILE BOOK TO OWN

Journey Into Power: by Baron Baptiste is an excellent book on yoga and has tons of information about Asanas and Poses.

The book is well worth getting and should be in the library of any serious Bodybalance/Flow Instructor. The book was released in 2002, it contains over 50 Vinyasa Yoga asanas and gives an indepth knowledge of the world of yoga.

There is also a video as well and worth well getting as well. He also has made several videos as well on other subjects as well Barron is a leading figure in the Yoga Industry as well as Rodney Yee who have contributed to the massive knowledge we have of Yoga and also the essentials of yoga for any serious Bodybalance/Flow Instructor and they provide a wealth of information that can increase our knowledge of poses.

HALF MOON POSE - ARDHA CHANDRASANA

Was inspired to write on this pose today.

This is a wonderful pose, the last time I did this once in Bodybalance. I hope Jackie uses it in this form again in Bodybalance.

©2005 Oraculartree
Used for Educational Purposes only under Academic Guidelines

Difficulty Ranking: 5 out of 8 on the difficulty scale which goes from 1 - 8.

It is a Balancing Pose.

A great yoga - poses for the thighs and ankles and back (lower back.) It is a Asana

The pose is often also called Half Moon Put. In traditional yoga class we would use a put or block as an anchor point for the had that is going down.

In traditional yoga we would go from a T Stand down to a Half Moon Put. The pose is difficult to master.

Setting it up:

1. We begin in mountain pose
2. Sometimes we come from Triangle Pose to T-Stand to half moon pose.
3.
Go to a T - Stand Position lifting one leg off the ground and then revolving around.
4.
From there we open up and extend outwards
5.
Then we revolve down and the hand that is closest to the ground touches the ground. We then lift the leg that is off the ground to a level that is in line with the hip line of the body.
6.
The hand that is up we brings as close as vertical position.

Coming Out of the Pose:

1. To come out of the pose bends the right knee and then you need to lower the leg that is up to the ground.
2.
Slowly come up and then return to mountain pose.

Please Note:

Breathing cycles should be used in all Yoga Poses in this pose the breat cycle is single breath cycles.

NB:

There is also a Reverse Half Moon Pose as well.

If you know any Instructor who has Bodybalance going back that far ask them to do this wonderful track :) they should know the release.

Please seek guidance when doing this pose. Seek medical advice prior to doing this or any yoga based or yoga pose.

DIFFERENT NAME SAME PROGRAM

In some parts of the world Bodybalance is known by different names.

In the USA and Canada Bodybalance is known as Bodyflow.

In a majority of the rest of the world the program is named Bodybalance.

In Japan Bodybalance is known as Bodyhealing.

Which probably makes it confusing for the people at Les Mills and the Master Trainers going from country to country teaching Bodybalance.

BODYBALANCE 30 MINUTE CLASS 初心・

In the Japanese BTS site which is a good read at times they have a 30 minute Bodybalance class where you do tracks 1 / 2 / 3 and 8 then track 10 or 11..

Thats a short Bodybalance Class :)

BODYBALANCE 30 THE LAST THING ON MY MIND

QUARTER 3 AUGUST 2005

The mind and body experience continues with Bodybalance and the first release of the 30's series of Bodybalance.

Choreographed by Dr Jackie Mills and with David Mc Kenzie and Anita Blanchard team teaching with Jackie on the DVD.

Featured artists are Era and Missy Higgins. Era because they have had a prolific connection to Bodybalance going back to 2000 and Missy Higgins because she is Australian and I think her music is rather special, having seen her career blossom last year, also featured is LeeAnn Rimes.

LEANN RIMES

Leann Rimes came to Bodybalance with release 13 with her uplifting track from Cyote Ugly "Please Remember" now almost 4 1/2 years later she comes back. This time with Ronan Keating who featured in Bodypump in the 40's series. Last Thing on My Mind which is from Ronans and Leann Rimes Hits Compilations. Leann came to world attention with Blue a song that was influenced by the legandary Patsy Cline who's producer produced Leann's Blue song. "The Last Thing on My Mind" is so what I think of Bodybalance it is always the last thing on my mind :)

ERA

Era's last time in Bodybalance was in release no 8 back in 2000. They return to Bodybalance with Ameno which is also track 2 the same place they were in Bodybalance 8. Mother by Era is one of my favorite BB track 2 of all time. They were also featured in Bodybalance 12 with Misere Mani as sun salutation also from that release. Ameno by Era was recorded in The Spring of 1997. Era is lead by Eric Levy who was formerly of Shakin Street, the group dispanded and Levi went off in another direcion while other members of the group went off to create Telephone a very popular group in France.

They now return to Bodybalance with this classic tune for a very special Bodybalance release.
