BODYBALANCE 31 SIZZLER

Direct from Les Mills International about the new release Bodybalance 31.

BODYBALANCE® 31

Hi teachers!

This release shows the wonderful places we can go with the tracks while staying within the established structure of the programme.

The new class will provide a great introduction to BODYBALANCE for new participants and yet have a real fresh new feel for regulars. I think the key feature this time is the huge diversity in the music. It gives us the freedom to deliver a really memorable BODYBALANCE experience.

Our warm up sets up the class with a series of Tai Chi moves that brings everyone into the moment - you can't think of anything else, so it really focuses us for the rest of the class.

The Celtic violin in Sinead O'Connor's Release brings an almost primal feel to the sun salutations and an indication of a really special class to come. The next innovation is revolved triangle pose in the standing strength track. This is a more advanced Yoga move but very doable given the focus our participants have achieved by this stage - it's also fully optioned.

The next track is all about the song - the simple balance sequence enables us to become immersed in the divine lyrics of Moby's Love Should.

Jessica Simpson's Take My Breath Away also has a warm and open feel. My friend Fabio Abrantes from Portugal says he "just feels love" by this stage of the class.

The core section is about strength and challenge and an absolute contrast with the previous tracks. We've gone somewhere really different musically with Track 8. Nina Simone's Feeling Good is just exquisite.

Tai Chi from track 1 repeats in the hamstrings track, just as so many of you have requested.

Then the scripting is all-important for our relaxation. Together with some beautiful music, it will take our participants to a profound stillness and the end of this magic class.

INTRODUCING AMETHYSTIUM

Just love this group and wanted to share their wonderfull music with everyone :) Will write up more later on this group.

Bio:

Amethystium: Oystein Ramfjord (creator and originator of the group).

Additional personnel: Martha Krossbakken, Joyelle Brandt, John Yannis Fyssas (vocals); Synove Flobak (cello) they have been together since 1998.

Based in Norway, Amethystium is a musical project founded around 1998 by Øystein Ramfjord. Hard to pigeon-hole as belonging in one specific category, the music can be described as a blend of new age, darkwave, ethno-ambient and electronica. Sonicly it ranges from dreamy and relaxing, to relatively upbeat, all with an evoking, atmospheric, and sometimes dark and moody soundscape. - from the Amethystium website

BODYBALANCE 30 REVIEW PART A

© 2005 Les Mills International Used with Kind Permission

To begin Bodybalance 30 is an awesome mix. This Bodybalance is now my all-time favorite out of every Bodybalance I have done.

Track 1:

Here with Me - Dido - Wonderful track some classic moves come back to this tai-chi warm-up just love the sensual feel of this track. What a wonderful thing to have Dido back in Bodybalance. This track starts mellow building into what one can describe as fluid flowing moments of total focus and calmness.

- Full Review in a few weeks when everyone has done it.

Track 2:

Ameo (Remix) - Era - It has been a very long time since Era was in Bodybalance. Last appearance was in Release 12 I think with Mother one of my favorite sun salutations ever. For the Australians out there this was featured in the Optus commercials back in the 1990's it is now The Optus Song to me :) Huge moments of breath in this sun salutation and a wonderful four sequence of poses and holds. Just love the ending and the tracks blend into track 3.

- Full Review in a few weeks when everyone has done it.

Track 3:

Prayer for the Dying - Seal - He makes a welcome to Bodybalance. Just love the Part A - B sequences in this release. Less complicated more holds and you truly feel it in the legs. The ending pose can you drop any further into a pose. More is less with this track.

- Full Review in a few weeks when everyone has done it.

Track 4:

All for the Believing - Missy Higgins a short track this time around the tracks divided into 6 parts and sequences. There is a nice Martial Arts Pose in this release :) People are going to love this one for a long time.

- Full Review in a few weeks when everyone has done it.

Track 5:

Shiver - Natalie Imbruglia - Nice track tons of hip flexing in this one. We see the return of a pose from Bodybalance 19, which is always a challenge to do. Love the Model Poses in this release. Bring out the Diva within yourself. Now one of my favorites.

- Full Review in a few weeks when everyone has done it.

Track 6:

Round Here - George Michael - One of the longest tracks on the release. Tons of personal challenges for all classes are going to love the physical aspects of this track. It brings back a Pilate's move that I have not seen in over 4 years I think. Ask the instructors for this one please repeatedly, if you attend classes.

Full Review in a few weeks when everyone has done it.

Track 7:

Last Thing on my Mind - Ronan Keating and Leann Rimes - Awesome track and a highlight of this release. Just love how Jackie can create a great back track from this track. It brings back a pose I have not seen in Bodybalance for at least 3 years a highlight of this release.

Full Review in a few weeks when everyone has done it.

Track 8:

World on Fire - Sarah Mclauchlan - 2 new poses in this release in addition, two poses that blend into each other so well. Long poses held at the end of the track - like tracks that are like this one because of this. Overall one of the best track 8's I have ever done.

Full Review in a few weeks when everyone has done it.

Track 9:

Run - Snow Patrol - WOW is all I can say now my favorite track 9 of all time. We see the return of two poses from previous Bodybalance releases. Just love the long pose holds in this release. Ask for this one repeatedly from your teacher teaching Bodybalance.

Full Review in a few weeks when everyone has done it.

Track 10:

Benedictus - Jenkins Awesome meditation track.

My rankings:

Music: 10/10
Enjoyment Level:10/10
Poses and New Movements: 9/10
Overall Feel of the release 10/10

A great and future classic Bodybalance release and ranks as now one of my favorites of all time. Now up there with Bodybalance Release 18.

FIRST LOOK BODYBALANCE BODYFLOW 30

Everyone is going to love Bodyblance/Flow 30. It is one of those releases that in 3 years from now you can pull out and say it "A Classic Bodybalance/Flow" release. Timeless music and the flow of the release is outstanding.

Music wise this is a A+ release. If you are from Australia track 2 would be familiar to people who watched TV back in the 90's. I can see alot of people remembering where this was used on TV. Highlight track for me when listening to it was tracks 1 and 9 which I like. They are going into my 30's classic series in 2007.

Tons of new moves that are going to keep people wanting to explore them in depth and also tons of space in track 1 for reflection.

Will do a full review next week.

Congratulations Jackie and this mix is going to have a very long shelf life :)

BODYBALANCE FLOW HEALING 30

Had to re-do this entry sorry:

I felt a sense of calmess putting this together, looking at the poster for this release centers me.

In times of passion and new light within
Comes the time I see myself with the light of time
Reflection comes from my own personal journey
I sense a new light from today and now see the white of tommorow
Hush the silence as I see in the distance a new vision of a brighter day
